The track on a railway or railroad is the structure consisting of the rails, fasteners, railroad ties (sleepers, British English) and ballast (or slab track)[1].

In Train Fever, there are two types of track: tracks built on wooden ties (standard track), with a 120 km/h speed limit, and tracks with concrete ties (high-speed track), having a 300 km/h speed limit.
